My contribution for “War is Peace” will be a group of old photographs which I came accross in a second hand bookstore, from the archives of the Faculty of Law of the University of Constatinople from the Ottoman Empire.
Being the allies of Germany and Austria during the 1st World War, the archive photographs are mainly the propaganda materials and represent the intimate moments of the allied armies in their actions.
Coming together with another photo showing the war victims from the balkans with false limbs provided by the red cross in 1919, they talk about a well known story that continuously repeats itself.
The project will be a slide show without sound, approximately 3 minutes, with this interesting unique material.
