"Solidarität gegen Repression" - Internationales Kunstprojekt HOLY DAMN IT 

Rede auf der Abschlusskundgebung im Rostocker Stadthafen am 8. Juni 2007:

HOLY DAMN IT! Ich bringe Euch die solidarischen Grüße des Internationalen Kunstprojekts "HOLY DAMN IT: 50 000 Plakate gegen G 8  - von der Dringlichkeit radikaler Antworten". Zehn KünstlerInnen und KünstlerInnenkollektive aus vier Kontinenten haben je ein Plakat gestaltet, insgesamt 50 000 gedruckt und in den letzten Monaten 48 000 Plakate kostenlos verschickt und weltweit verbreitet. Von Moldawien bis Los Angeles, von Bern bis Kiel, von Berlin bis Belgrad, von Zagreb über Paris und  Rom bis Tel Aviv und Gaza Stadt haben Tausende die Plakate bestellt und in den öffentlichen Raum geklebt.

Wir sind überglücklich und freuen uns unendlich, dass auf die Fragen und Visionen, die auf unseren Plakaten aufgeworfen worden sind, erste radikale Antworten gefunden wurden - dass sie Realität geworden sind, weil Zehntausende gemeinsam gehandelt haben trotz Repression, Polizeiterror, Demoverboten, Roten Zonen und trotz der Versuche einiger politischer Funktionäre die breite Protest- und Widerstandsbewegung in "Gute und Böse" zu spalten.
Wir haben die kollektive Erfahrung von Tagen des zivilen Ungehorsams und des rebellischen Widerstandes erlebt. Wir danken allen, die diesen Erfolg möglich gemacht haben: Den DemonstrantInnen, den BlockiererInnen und vor allem auch den AktivistInnen der Camps, den Demo-Sanis, den Vokü-KöchInnen sowie den AnwältInnen und den unabhängigen Medienkollektiven.

Auf einem unserer Plakate stand: Bewegen - Blockieren - Bleiben. Zehntausende haben das praktisch in die Realität umgesetzt. Zehntausende haben sich bewegt, haben blockiert und sind geblieben: history is a work in process! Von Seattle über Genua nach Heiligendamm und ab heute überall weltweit im Alltag gegen den globalen Krieg, gegen Folter, Rassismus, Patriarchat und die kapitalistische Katastrophe.

Mind the Gap!
48 000 Plakate waren umsonst für alle. Mit den letzten 2000 Plakaten wollen wir die Betroffenen von Repression in der  G 8 Mobilisierung direkt unterstützen. Die Betroffenen der 129a-Razzien, die Verhafteten und die Verletzten. Deshalb werden wir die letzten 200 mal je zehn Motive unter dem Motto "Solidarität gegen Repression" für 50 Euro Spende abgeben. 10 000 Euro - das ist ein Anfang.

Das internationale Kunstprojekt
HOLY DAMN IT

Zum Ablauf:
Die 200 Soli-Plakat-Sets mit jeweils zehn Motiven werden alle per Hand auf der Rückseite mit der Aufschrift "Solidarität gegen Repression" und "Eins von Zweihundert" gestempelt.
Wer per Mail unter info@holy-damn-it.org die Soli-Edition bestellt und 50 Euro plus 3 Euro Porto überwiesen hat, bekommt von uns dann zwei Wochen später die Rolle mit den Plakaten zugeschickt:

"Solidarity against Repression" – The International Art Project HOLY DAMN IT 

Speech on the occasion of the farewell demonstration at the city port of Rostock, June 8, 2007:

HOLY DAMN IT! I am toasting to you with a solidarity welcome of the international art project "HOLY DAMN IT: 50 000 Posters against G 8 - On the Urge for Radical Answers". Ten artists and artist collectives from four continents have created one poster each, 50 000 posters have been printed and 48 000 sent out worldwide free of charge. From Moldavia to Los Angeles, from Bern to Kiel, from Berlin to Belgrade, from Zagreb to Paris, to Rome, Tel Aviv and Gaza City, thousands have ordered the posters and mounted them in public space.

We are more than happy and endlessly glad that there have been some initial radical answers to the questions and visions raised in our posters, that they have become reality because ten thousands have acted together despite repression, police terror, demonstration violations, red zones and despite the attempts of some political organs to divide the broad protest and resistance movement into “good and evil”.

We have lived the collective experience in days of civil disobedience and rebellious resistance. We thank all those who have made this success possible: the demonstrators, the blockaders and most of all the activists in the camps, the demonstration sanitarians, the people’s kitchen cooks, the lawyers and independent media collectives.

One of our posters said: Move - Block - Remain. Ten thousands have carried out this motto into reality. Ten thousands have moved, blocked and remained: history is a work in process! From Seattle to Genoa and to Heiligendamm and as of today everywhere in the world: against war, torture, racism, patriarchy and the capitalist catastrophe. Mind the Gap!
48 000 posters have been free for all. With the remaining 2 000 posters we want to directly support the victims of repression from the G8 mobilization: those affected by the 129a-raids, the arrested and hurt. Thus we will donate the ten motifs 200 times under the motto "Solidarity against repression" for 50 Euros per set. 10 000 Euros – that’s a beginning.

Procedure:
On the back, the 200 solidarity poster sets with ten motifs each will be stamped with the slogan „Solidarity against Repression“ and “1/200” etc.
Who has ordered the posters under info@holy-damn-it.org and transferred 50 Euros plus 3 Euros for postage and packaging will receive a tube with the posters approx. two weeks later:
